We are a non-profit whose only mission is to take the Gospel of Jesus
Christ to Russia.
Four in the Fire Russia Ministries, Inc.will be applying for
501(c)(3) tax exempt status as of November 2009.The people of Four
in the Fire Russia Ministries, Inc. are Stephanie Nelms and Andy Nelms.
We travel to Russia most every year to teach and
preach about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We have worked with a
Russian pastor whose
name is Vladimir (Volodya) Kochelev, and his wife Nadehzda (Nadya)
Kocheleva. They
live in the town of Alexandrov about 100 miles east of Moscow and
they preach and teach in the nearby town
of Karabanovo. However, as of 2007 we will be working all over
Russia with any evangelical church that can use our help.
Our purpose is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the
Russian people through VBSs and ESL classes as well as Bible studies.
We are not a social ministry though we do give support from time to
time to various ministries in Russia.
We give all the praise to Jesus for all that He has accomplished
through our work in Russia. We invite you
to join us on our next trip.
Our name, Four in the Fire Russia Ministries, Inc., comes
from the Bible, in the old testament and the story of Meshach,
Shadrach and Abednego (of course you know these were not their
Jewish names). These three young Jewish boys along with Daniel
and 66 other boys had been captured by King Nebuchadnezzar,
the Babylonian king, in 605 BC and taken back to Babylon.
They were told to bow down and worship a statue that
Nebuchadnezzar had caused to be built. The boys refused to do
so and the penalty was to be thrown into the fiery furnace
heated seven times hotter than normal.
After
the three boys were thrown into the fiery furnace the king looked in and
said, "Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the
fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the
gods!" Daniel 3:25 (NASB). To read the rest of the story read
chapter 3 of Daniel or begin in chapter 1 to start with the capture of the
boys.
In the end, King Nebuchadnezzar did find God and I believe
old Neb is in heaven now. See how he found God in chapter 4 of Daniel. By the way, do you know
who that fourth person was who was in the fire with them. First hint: it was not an angel. Second
hint: read John 1:1-3.
Sincerely,
Andy and Stephanie Nelms
